Pumpkin Pickin'

 It's pumpkin patch time!

Last weekend, my sister and I took the kids to Old Baker Farm's Cotton Pickin' Celebration! It's so much fun for the kids and we try to make it a point to go every year. Usually we have Daddy in tow but he had to work.

We've learned over the years to get there at opening and go straight to the hay ride. After standing in line for over an hour to go out to the pumpkin patch in years past, we started brainstorming alternatives.

Sarah and I met each other at 9:00 at the front entrance and as planned, made our way to the hay ride line. To our surprise, there wasn't a single person in line. We actually had time to snap a few pictures because they weren't quite ready to start the rides yet!! On the way to the pumpkin patch, we rode behind the mules but on our way back we got a ride behind the tractor!!

As soon as we picked out our pumpkins, sweet Mags announced that it was time for a potty break...and she meant NOW!!

Next stop was the hay climb and horse swings...

We avoided the horseback rides and made our way to pet the animals...

After a quick stop for boiled peanuts, we made our way back to the face painting table for the girls to get their face painted...

Westin wanted no part of the face painting but was completely content enjoying his peanuts and watching the girls!!

Our last stop before heading out to lunch was the cotton jump...

...and it never fails that my children are going to fight over these before leaving.

Here we are a few years back: 2008 and 2011
