Vacation vs Family Trip

On the way home from Georgia, Heath and I started talking about the beach and thinking it would be so nice to go the upcoming week. Ideas turned into plans and we spent our Memorial Day eating way too much fast food, packing Mommy and Daddy for the beach and the littles to go to JiJi's and Pop's!

Our plan was to spend the next 4 days with Caycie and Bull and enjoy a beach vacation with adults only. After we dropped the kids off, I was overcome with guilt for leaving them to go to the beach. Thankfully, after a few phone calls we made plans to spend a few more days than planned at the beach and have Nana and Poppy bring the kids down to enjoy the beach with us for the weekend! Best Decision Ever!

Heath and I enjoyed several days of adult time that included peaceful dinners, late nights, sleeping in, and ALL day sits on the beach with Bull and Caycie {well mainly just Caycie because Bull Bull ended up staying sick the whole time}.

On Thursday night, Nana and Poppy loaded our littles up and made the 5 hour drive to Panama City! We all got up early Friday morning and made our way to the beach with all of our STUFF! Thank goodness for an extra set of hands.

Westin wasn't crazy about the sand or the ocean but absolutely loved the sound of the waves. The sound put him right to sleep and he slept most of the day on my shoulder or in his pack n play.

AR didn't mind the sand but was not a fan on the ocean. Daddy was able to get her out there for a short while but it only happened once! Her favorite thing to do was lay out on the beach chair and eat snacks! She is too big for her britches!

We also spent lots of time at the pool and enjoyed the pool side cafe for lunch!

Nana was wanting Shuckums for dinner and thankfully it was right across the street from our condo. So we walked to dinner Friday night! While there, we ran into Aunt Sa-Sa, Aunt Liz and their friends so we squeezed into their table and enjoyed dinner with them! Westin was in heaven when his Sa-Sa got ahold of him!

Saturday, I decided to walk to the mall with Westin while everyone else enjoyed the beach for the day! I love Pier Park and could spend hours upon hours there if time and Westin allowed! We decided to take Family pictures on the beach Saturday evening and drove over to Pineapple Willy's for dinner. Westin had a come apart as soon as we were seated so we took turns pushing him around in his stroller until everyone was finished with dinner.

Sunday morning, we packed up our two littles and all of our belongings and made our way back home!

Vacation vs Family Trip???

Our first half of the week was a "VACATION", however, the last half of the week was a family "TRIP" because there was ABSOLUTELY no relaxation on my part!

Fun times, great memories, can't wait to do it again next summer! 

{It makes me chuckle every time I see the pictures of Heath in the snorkle. If you know him you know he's not a goggle/snorkle wearing kind of guy}
