Shuffle Step

AR just completed her 2nd year of dance and she loves it so much!! I loved watching her improvements from last year and her ability to recall much earlier on. She was in the Tiny Dancer I class again this year {which is beginning tap and ballet} so her class has a wide variety of ages, ranging from tiny three year olds up to 6 year old school girls. They were one cute mix!!

I decided to attempt a sock bun for AR's updo this year. We let it grow out all year long so it was the perfect length for it. The end result turned out so cute thanks to the YouTube tutorial.

Since this wasn't our first rodeo I had our bags packed with all necessities and everyone dress with plenty of time to spare. In fact, AR had enough time to blow bubbles while she waited on us to wrap up a few last minute chores before we left for Birmingham. However, this enjoyable time cushion was short lived. AR got stung by 2 wasp right on the tooshy. Tobacco, vinegar, ice packs and band-aids had to be applied and a pep talk had to be given before we could make our way to the car. It was one dramatic event and ran us 20 minutes late.

Her dance recital venue was at the BJCC Children's Theater again this year and Heath and I braved bringing along little brother! He did fantastic. He spent his time chomping on popcorn and playing iPhone games in between watching the dances. He was AR's biggest fan screaming, "Dere she is!! Yay Ray Reese!!" We couldn't have asked for better behavior. Thankfully, AR's 2 performances were early on in the show. Once she was finished, we allowed her as long as she wanted to watch the other girls perform from the audience but a hungry tummy got us out of there fairly early!

AR never asked who was coming to watch her so we let it be a surprise! She was so excited about seeing Codie and Blakelee and was even more pumped about her new Ballerina Barbie!! Codie is the best gift giver ever!!

MiMi and Memaw couldn't make it last year so this was their first year to see the big show!! They were truly impressed and giggled at their precious tiny dancer! Her Nana and Poppy also sat proudly in her cheering section! I love watching them watch her dance! It's such a sweet moment! Proud grandparents!!

After a few more quick pictures we wrapped up the big evening with dinner together!!

Next year, we will have a Tiny Dancer II on our hands.. Watch out!
